“Miller taps into a space of creativity, spirituality, and meditation in this vibrant collection showcasing her different paintings, as she channels her lifelong love of art to uncover “deeper layers of the Self and the world around you.” Flush with brilliant color and multiple paint mediums—watercolor, oil, acrylic, ink—Miller arranges her compositions alongside her own interpretations of each piece, including the emotions it generates, her use of technique, and the spiritual realms she entered when creating it. As Miller encourages readers to analyze her work, she reflects and marvels on the multiple perspectives she has received in regards to her pieces: "Every person I show...sees different things," she shares.
Miller addresses art as a spiritual and personified process, one that invites both creators and observers into an atmosphere of self-exploration. “Each of our souls has characteristics that make us unique, and each of us is on a special and significant journey,” she writes, as she encourages readers to draw on their spirituality while thoughtfully observing what her paintings may reveal to them. Miller also acknowledges the dreamy quality of her work, characterizing the figures she sees in each painting as “soul friends”—“representations of the spirit of the person, place, or thing they’re attached to.”
Miller's openness about her art will entice readers to brush off their own talents and harness new ways to express themselves. Just as she draws inspiration from nature, her love life, and her studies on Reiki, Feng Shui, and Christianity, she urges readers to use art as a pathway to healing, growth, and self-discovery. The paintings themselves are rendered in richly textured tones, a kaleidoscope of visual symbolism that will resonate with both beginning and seasoned artists. This is as much a deep contemplation of consciousness, enlightenment, and self-awareness as it is a striking tour through Miller’s artistic journey.”
